October 1st, 2009A Day In The Tantalus Range(teaser edit)
May 20th, 2009Thanks to Derren at Black Tusk,Crossland,PK,Dan and Matty for making it happen out in the unreal super coastal mountains. We were able to ski three lines in the Tantalus range this day by using 4 or 5 heli assists. We climbed and skied the west rib of mt serratus,we reached the next line from the back of mt dione’s south ridge by climbing through a little notch in the ridge then descending the east facing side that spills onto the north end of the serratus glacier(a steep exposed face running onto an open glacier),we then went to look at this couloir on the west face of tantalus and dione and it was perfect so after being dropped on the dione glacier we made a short traverse on mid 5th class rock and snow(which can be harder than you think with alpine ski boots and fat skies) to the entrance of the couloir and it was a couloir in the true sense 50 degrees on average and 300 metres or more in length. We named it the ratty couloir after matty richard sent it first. This was one to remember for sure and quite possibly a first descent on the west side of mt dione. These mountains hold so much beauty.Big spirits in the red tit col.cawww caww.

Bell 2 Lodge/last frontier heli-skiing
March 31st, 2009
In late february I went on an oakley/tgr trip to northern BC.The crew was seth, dana, tanner and I.Pretty sick. There heli terrain was huge and remote. Also the lodge was 5 star.It had been sunny for 2 weeks before we showed up and was abit over cast the first couple days so we did some relaxing,cross-country skiing, beer drinking and foozball playing. When the sun broke we were in awe with the sights. We scoped a ton of terrain at first and then started by looking for stuff with light on it.The seconded mission was finding soft snow that wasnt blown away from the strong north winds that had been hitting the coast range aswell as the skeena range. The heli time we had booked was flying by from looking for nice terrain, picking up the 2 loads, finding light, snow and just working around all the variables the mountains brought us.We had such an awsome guide, pilot and crew so we had many good runs but the conditions were hard for doing the stuff we needed for filming but we picked away every couple days and had mostly high pressureand no new snow.It was great to ski the terrain up there. At the end we hit some fun spine lines,a windlip session and some of us made the second decent of the second highest peak in the skeena range with a gnarly tow in landing and a 4500 ft coulour on the northwest face,it was a mostly successful adventure. Thanks crew.
Oxbow Event/Chamonix Trip
February 5th, 2009In late january and early february I got over to france for some turns. My trip started in Areches-Beufort,a small unknown ski area in the french alps. This is were the laurent favre oxbow back to powder invitational is being held. The area was sick with lots of minigolf terrain(for france)but long runs with alot of features. The comp is a 5 day thing with a long ridge of freeride terrain for the big mountain peice of the event,a nice table top kicker and wood jib(that was sketchy to say the least) for us to session, and a bundle of hand built jumps of the piste.Im not much of a competition shredder but this was more of a session so i was into it.It was a bit unorganized and snow conditions were not permitting gnarly ripping. In between parts of the event the rider got to go make some long runs with lots of natural feature in marginal snow. The table top ended up being a fun session for me to through all my tricks and the next day was the big mountain ridge that was canceled because of firm snow and windy conditions so we went and hit the backcountry kickers.Every one was ripping and besides overshooting all the jumps I through alot of tricks and had a blast.Because of bad condition and since we were judging each other we decided to split all the prize money and just turn the event into a session and it ended well.Of course it started dumping a day after the comp and i decided to head to chamonix with Mike hopkins and julien regnier to do some shots for Weski magazine. We got lots of powder skiiing on real runs and I saw alot of good friends.Stoked.Skied in comayeur italy for the first time. There was more snow in italy than there has been for 5 years. After our crew left I decided to stay in cham for a bit longer and ski with Stain,Oli and all the bros.We had some really good days in Vallorcine and on the midi.My friend from canada Callum also showed up in cham surprisingly. So he had a great introduction to the chamonix valley with the best skiing either of us had experienced this season. It came to an end to fast and I had to go home to make it on a tgr trip in northern bc.Over all a big highlight of the year so far.

Rossignol team Kooteney trip
January 21st, 2009This January I went on a ski trip to the kooteneys with most of the Rossignol team to have fun and get some shots. We all met up in Nelson and headed to Snow H2O cat/heli operation first to ski some trees. We had bad avalanche conditions and weird pow but managed to have a great time around the lodge skiing the forest up.After 3 days we headed to nelson to ski White Water ski area.It snowed 30cms and the most of the rossi team made some killer backsides and all kinds of fast laps in the woods. The last two days in nelhole we got two days at Valhalla Powdercats and the snow settled out alot more but we shredded some cool terrain.Blake linked up with us at this time and we started taking some photos aswell as continuing getting some shots with E roc.VAlhalla powdercats terrain stoked me up more than any of the cat spots in the koots beside Rettalack but we were on are way to revy the day after.Revelstoke brought warm temps and some fun leg burners but not alot of fresh. We ripped it up and headed toward home 2 days later for the rossignol product launch party at the blake jorgenson gallery in whistler village.Everything went good and im glad i am pivilaged enough to ski with such a rightous crew.thanks bros.
